Blue and orange glass

Throughout his career, Frank has been making objects that consist of several parts. He considers the possibility of playing with the set-up of the piece to make one’s own composition, so to say a valuable and playful extra. Three slabs were fused in blue and orange glass for this object, and all three slumped into a bowl.

A separate firing is needed for each slump since the temperature for slumps of different sizes will be different. That also goes for bending the bowls into their final shape in a third firing after the surplus of glass on which the slump was ‘hanging’ is removed, and the edges are ground and polished. 

The sizes of the parts, height x width x depth, are 10 x 27 x 13 cm, 6 x 24 x 7 cm and 4 x 7 x 4 cm.
