Genuine Lamberts glass for smaller projects

Glashütte Lamberts makes coloured flat glass by hand in Waldsassen. For its mouth-blown ranges, a glass cylinder is blown, opened and flattened into a sheet. Table Cathedral glass is made by a different process: it is cast by hand. Fine bubbles, subtle shifts in colour and movement in the surface give the glass its distinctive character. Even two pieces with the same glass number need not look identical.

A piece of approximately 30 × 30 cm is useful for repairs, Tiffany pieces, samples, individual sections of a leaded window and projects combining several colours. You can buy the glass you need without ordering a full sheet. These are approximate cuts from handmade sheets; always check the dimensions stated on the individual product page.

Which type of Lamberts glass should you choose?

Genuine Antique glass

Classic mouth-blown glass with fine lines, bubbles and a lively surface. A choice for stained glass, historic windows, leaded glazing and Tiffany work when the play of colour and daylight is central to the design.

Table Cathedral glass

Hand-cast glass with a distinctive, softly textured surface. It lets daylight through while obscuring a clear view. Suitable for doors, privacy glazing, traditional leaded windows and decorative panels.

Flashed glass (Überfang)

One or more thin layers of coloured glass are fused to a clear or tinted base glass. This creates rich colours, shading and multicolour effects. The coloured layer may also be worked for detailed glass painting and decorative effects.

Goethe glass and Restauro®

Mouth-blown glass with a comparatively calm appearance and subtle handmade movement. Coloured Goethe glass suits restrained designs; clear Restauro® variants are often used for historic window restoration.

Important cutting tip

Which side of flashed glass should you cut?

Score Lamberts flashed glass on the base-glass side, not on the thin coloured flash. If the base is clear, this is usually the clear side. Inspect both faces and the edge of your particular piece before cutting to identify where the coloured layer lies.

Place the base-glass side upwards on a clean, level surface and guide the glass cutter with even pressure. On multicoloured or unusually layered glass, colour alone may not show which side is the base. If in doubt, try an offcut or ask Fenix Glas before cutting. Take care not to scratch the thin coloured layer while positioning or breaking the glass.

Lamberts glass by GLS parcel throughout the EU

We pack small Lamberts glass pieces carefully at our Gilze warehouse and ship suitable orders with GLS. Their convenient format makes parcel shipping a cost-effective alternative to transporting full sheets in a glass crate. We pack no more than ten small glass sheets in one parcel to help protect them in transit.

Standard parcel shipping costs €7.50 to the Netherlands, €10.50 to Belgium and Germany, and €17.50 to France, excluding VAT. For other countries, the rate appears at the end of the ordering process in the shopping cart. The shipping method for larger orders or mixed goods depends on size, weight and packaging.

Product prices exclude VAT and shipping. Business discounts do not apply to these small glass sheets. Availability is shown for each product when you order.

Frequently asked questions about Lamberts glass by parcel

Are the pieces exactly 30 × 30 cm?

No. This is an approximate size. Dimensions can differ because the sheets are handmade and cut into smaller pieces. Check the individual product description.

Can I order different colours and glass types together?

Yes. You can combine available small Lamberts glass pieces from different categories in one order. We pack a maximum of ten small glass sheets per parcel.

Will two pieces with the same glass number be identical?

No. Colour, bubbles and texture can vary within and between handmade sheets. Product images give a useful indication, but each piece has its own character.

Which side of flashed glass do I score?

Score the base-glass side without the thin coloured layer. With a clear base, this is normally the clear side. Check the construction of your own piece before cutting.

How quickly will my order be sent?

We process in-stock orders promptly. Transit time depends on the destination, GLS and when the order is placed. Current product availability and shipping options are shown in the shop.
