Stearin oil, 0.25 liters
Stearin oil flux for soldering
Stearin oil serves as a flux when soldering stained glass. A flux ensures that the solder flows nicely or forms smoothly into a nice soldering point.
In the past, the old glazier used parafin or candle wax as a flux when soldering stained glass. Stearin oil is the liquid sister of parfin.
Due to the cold, the stearin oil may solidify slightly in winter, causing white flakes to appear in the stearin oil. The oil is not spoiled or expired, just put it on the stove and it will turn a beautiful golden yellow again.
