Soldering iron Weller 100 Watt
Over the past year (2025), we have received a huge number of complaints about Weller soldering irons.
- Cooper Tools (Weller's parent company) moved production to Mexico, and that is when the complaints started.
- As we do not currently stand behind the quality of Weller products, we have (temporarily?) stopped purchasing them.
- As soon as we receive confirmation that the problems have been resolved, we will resume purchasing Weller soldering irons.
For the last 30 years, Weller has been the best electric soldering iron for stained glass and Tiffany. If you have a good old soldering iron, don't worry, we will continue to stock soldering tips. (Unfortunately, this does not include the SG51 for the Weller 200 Watt).
Which soldering iron should I buy now?
· Are you looking for an affordable, high-quality soldering iron? Then we recommend the Startec.
· Would you like a hammer model (for an ergonomic working position when working with stained glass)? Then we recommend the IFA 180 Watt.
· But the very best quality soldering iron for stained glass and Tiffany is the HAKKO FX601.

Soldering iron for stained glass & Tiffany
The Weller Profkit 100 is a temperature-controlled soldering iron for stained glass & Tiffany. The soldering iron works with a universal plug. This soldering iron comes with tip number 7 as standard. Tip number 7 works faster and is easier with thicker lead. If you are inexperienced with stained glass, we recommend using marker number 6 first. Do not use sandpaper or other abrasive substances to clean the soldering iron tip. Preferably use a salmiac cube with a wet sponge.
